This Banpresto figurine depicts Emporio Ivankov, the flamboyant commander of the Revolutionary Army, from the HYOKOFIG collection. Standing approximately 19 cm tall, it departs from the traditional full-length depiction to focus on the character’s enormous face, presented as if emerging from a rectangular frame. The HYOKOFIG range is based precisely on this concept of characters suddenly appearing out of their surroundings, creating an original display on a shelf or desk.
Ivankov sports a particularly exuberant expression: his mouth is wide open, he has a huge grin revealing his teeth, his tongue is visible and his eyes are wide open. His black make-up, shaped like long stars around his eyes, is rendered in relief, whilst a purple outline emphasises his lips. This theatrical expression directly conveys the character’s boundless energy and extravagant personality.
His voluminous purple hair occupies a large part of the composition and is sculpted into numerous thick curls. Resting atop it is an imposing red and orange crown edged in gold, decorated with small turquoise stones and finished with several golden spikes. The whole is framed by a red rectangular structure, the surface of which features a carved-wood effect.
This presentation suits Ivankov particularly well: the head seems to literally burst out of the frame, making his expression the central focus of the figurine. At 19 cm tall, this HYOKOFIG is substantial in size whilst remaining easy to place amongst books or within a One Piece collection.
